Wise Monkey Theatre Company is pleased to announce that together
with the Salford Carers Centre, based at The Angel in Salford, they
are developing a short play for performance in schools during
National Carers Week, beginning June 12th 2000.
The play is
being developed in a series of workshops with actors, writers,
teachers, carers and health service professionals and its purpose is
to raise awareness amongst children of the problems facing Young
Carers within the community and to highlight the help that is
available.
We believe that this is the first time drama has
been used to highlight these problems and we will be able to monitor
the effectiveness very closely. The final script is also available
on-line at this web site so that children or teachers can download
it and use it as a basis for further discussion.
